Environmental Remediation Geologist

Position Overview:

AECOM is excited to announce an opportunity for a Mid-Level Geologist within our Remediation division. We are looking for skilled professionals who can effectively contribute to ongoing projects and foster growth in both established and emerging markets.

Key Responsibilities:


- Manage tasks or projects and lead teams in field operations for the collection of air, soil vapor, soil, groundwater, and sediment samples, along with geological logging of unconsolidated sediments and bedrock.


- Apply fundamental scientific principles, theories, and practices to devise remedial strategies for soil and groundwater contamination, including conducting feasibility studies, drafting remedial action work plans, and creating remediation design plans.


- Analyze and interpret data, ensuring compliance with relevant studies and local, state, and federal regulations.


- Prepare comprehensive reports, work plans, and technical memoranda; analyze data to formulate well-supported conclusions.


- Develop and implement work plans, cost estimates, and reports, while compiling and analyzing data.


- Prepare proposals and cost estimates for new project opportunities.


- Oversee fieldwork by managing individual or multiple contractors, including laboratories, drillers, surveyors, and excavation teams.


- Communicate effectively with clients, site representatives, subcontractors, regulatory bodies, and project stakeholders.


- Engage in health and safety planning and hazard identification.


- Exhibit strong interpersonal and communication skills, comfortable interacting with clients, regulatory case managers, colleagues, and subcontractors.


- Travel to project sites may be required, with occasional overnight stays during weekdays, comprising less than 20 percent of the time.
