Overview:
Under the supervision of the designated authority, the Study Hall Monitor is responsible for:
  • Overseeing the check-in and check-out process for student-athletes
  • Monitoring student activities
  • Assisting students in locating campus resources

Key Responsibilities:
  • Open and close the designated study lounge at specified times
  • Monitor the entry and exit of all student-athletes in the Library and Learning Center
  • Support the maintenance of a conducive learning environment in both the BDAC and LLC
  • Guide student-athletes in navigating university educational systems
  • Prepare and submit a nightly report to the Supervisor detailing any issues or concerns
  • Adhere to all policies and regulations set forth by athletic and library staff
  • Uphold standards in accordance with the Student Code of Conduct
  • Collaborate with supervisors and fellow monitors on a weekly basis

Qualifications:
Minimum Requirements:
  • Must have completed at least some college coursework, reaching a minimum of Sophomore status
  • Maintain a minimum GPA of 3.5 for both semester and overall performance
  • Exhibit a high level of responsibility, reliability, and punctuality

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Previous experience as a USU college student with familiarity in systems such as Banner, Canvas, MyUSU, etc.

Work Environment:
Employees will primarily work indoors, protected from weather conditions, but may experience occasional temperature fluctuations. Regular tasks may involve sitting and repetitive hand motions, as well as reaching with hands and arms. Employees may be required to lift and/or move items weighing up to 10 pounds.
