Job Overview

Goldfish Swim School - Johns Creek is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Swim Instructor to join our team. As a Swim Instructor, you will be responsible for teaching students of all ages and skill levels how to swim and water safety skills.

Responsibilities
  • Provide swim instruction based on the Goldfish Swim School curriculum.
  • Enforce safety rules and regulations to prevent accidents and make rescues when necessary.
  • Evaluate students' progress and complete required paperwork in a timely manner.
  • Interact with parents/guardians on students' activities and development of swim skills.
  • Act as a GSS ambassador to ensure parental satisfaction.
  • Use problem-solving and creative thinking skills to identify and resolve challenges that students encounter.
  • Inspect pool areas before and after each class for maintenance, cleanliness, or damage issues and report them to management.
  • Maintain and ensure proper storage of all pool equipment and place and remove lane lines.
  • Report accidents and incidents to management and complete required documentation and paperwork.
  • Perform Deck Teacher duties as needed and light cleaning duties such as window washing, deck mopping, and trash removal.
  • Attend required/mandatory workshops and in-service training outside of regular working hours.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED is preferred.
  • Experience as a certified lifeguard, youth sports instructor/coach, camp counselor, and/or childcare provider is required.
  • Two or more years as a swimming instructor is required.
  • Lifeguard, CPR/AED, and First Aid certification is required.
  • Shallow water attendant certification is highly recommended.
Work Environment

While performing this job, the employee is regularly exposed to heat and humidity. Noise level is usually moderate.
