Key Responsibilities


The Respiratory Therapist is responsible for coordinating and delivering high-quality, patient-centered respiratory care in line with departmental requirements and consistent with the scope and standards of practice for the relevant state and specialty.

As an integral member of the patient care team, the Respiratory Therapist conducts various diagnostic tests and therapeutic procedures while monitoring patients receiving both invasive and noninvasive mechanical ventilation.


Primary Duties:
- Conduct and document patient assessments, including breath sounds, airway patency, and cuff pressure.
- Perform diagnostic procedures to assess the need for and response to respiratory therapy.
- Administer respiratory care therapies, including oxygen delivery, aerosol medication delivery, and chest physiotherapy.
- Assist with the placement of artificial airways and initiate, monitor, and maintain mechanical ventilation.
- Monitor patients for therapeutic responses and notify providers, intervening as necessary in case of unintended responses.
- Assist in the transportation of ventilator-dependent patients.
- Respond to emergency patient situations, ensuring airway integrity and adequate ventilation during resuscitation as required.

Qualifications:
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support certification.
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Licensed Respiratory Therapist.
- Graduate of a Vocational School, Associate Degree, Bachelor's Degree, or Master's Degree.

No travel required.
No prior experience necessary.
