Licensed Practical Nurse

This is a full-time position with an annual salary range of $60,672 - $87,731.
The successful candidate will provide evidence-based nursing care utilizing the nursing process, principles, practices, and techniques of general nursing care as determined by Standards of Practice under the direction of a Registered Nurse.
The LPN will screen for sick call, administer medications, and provide first aid and basic life support to patients and employees as needed.
Maintaining open lines of communication with security and treatment staff while providing input and feedback to assist the facility provider in organizing a treatment plan is essential.
The LPN will record all pertinent information into the medical record and interact with other departments as needed.
Promoting continued competence through education/certification with a focus on correctional nursing is a key responsibility.
The LPN must have the ability to work hours, days, and locations as assigned and be capable and available to provide coverage as needed to meet institutional needs.
Assignments to other duties or locations may be necessary to meet the clinical and administrative needs of the Department.
Minimum Qualifications- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- Must possess and maintain a valid unrestricted Virginia LPN license issued by the board of nursing or a multi-state compact license
- Working knowledge of principles, practices, and techniques of practical or general nursing care
- Demonstrated ability to screen complaints of physical ailments and refer necessary cases to other medical professionals
- Ability to maintain appropriate documentation, provide first aid, and carry out providers' orders in applying treatments
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions and to administer practical nursing care
- Certified Basic Life Support (BLS) for health care providers with current certification through American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) is required upon hire
- Experience working in a Corrections or Law enforcement environment
- Experience or related training in delivery of general nursing and emergency medical care
