Job Overview

Position Summary

The individual in this role will respond to various emergency situations, including fire, rescue, and medical incidents, while providing advanced life support services based on their certification level. It is essential to maintain a state of readiness for emergencies and ensure that all equipment, vehicles, and the station are in optimal condition for fire prevention and suppression.

Required Qualifications

Applicants must possess a High School Diploma or GED. Additionally, candidates should hold one of the following certifications:
- Basic firefighter certification from the Texas Commission on Fire Protection along with EMT or Paramedic Certification OR
- Paramedic certification OR
- Certification from a fire or EMS agency in another state that has reciprocity with Texas or holds an IFSAC seal and/or National Registry.
Upon assignment, candidates must successfully complete the necessary courses and retain TCFP Basic Fire Certification, EMT, EMT-A, Paramedic, and/or complete the medical director credentialing process.
A valid Texas Class "B" Driver's License with a clean driving record is required within the first year of employment. Preference will be given to those with Paramedic certification.

Application Process

It is crucial to submit a completed polygraph packet along with the application. The application will be deemed incomplete without this documentation.

Compensation Details
The starting salary for this position is $71,000.00, with an additional $400 per month for those assigned as Paramedics.

Physical Ability Test (PAT)
Details regarding the PAT will be communicated to qualified candidates.

Disqualifying Factors
Applicants should be aware of automatic disqualifications related to illegal drug use within specified timeframes. This includes:
- Any illegal use of Marijuana, Hashish, or K2/Spice in the last 2 years.
- Any illegal use of Heroin, Cocaine, Crack, Methamphetamine, and other specified substances in the last 5 years.
A polygraph examination will be conducted, which will include questions regarding these matters. Please ensure the polygraph packet is filled out accurately.
