Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Warehouse Operations Specialist to join our team at Port City Logistics, Inc. in Port Wentworth, GA. As a key member of our warehouse team, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently operating a forklift to move products, equipment, or materials as required in fulfilling customer requests.

Key Responsibilities

Efficiently pull and prepare customer orders for shipment, ensuring that the correct number and type of product is loaded and shipped.
Safely and efficiently unload inbound shipments and move product to storage locations, and efficiently stack and store the merchandise in the appropriate areas.
Operate forklift and/or stand-up reach truck and/or box clamp and/or skid steer in performance of order filling duties when required.
Maintain the facility's equipment and materials in a neat, clean, and orderly fashion.
Conduct physical inventories as required, and keep appropriate records and reports to guarantee that tight inventory control and security are maintained.
Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly work area, and assist in maintaining the security of the warehouse.
Comply with OSHA, MSDS, and Port City Logistics Safety Standards.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
1-3 years of experience using a forklift in loading and unloading product in a warehouse setting.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, and to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods.
Ability to read written instructions, manuals, order requests, bills of lading, container detail reports, machine equipment, reading readings, measurements, or gauges.
Ability to count accurately, do simple math, and write legibly.
Ability to use a physical, digital time clock, and to use a bar code scanner.
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with others in a close working environment or over a great distance via hand held radio.
Ability to efficiently coordinate work and to work as a team with internal and external employees of the company.

Preferred Qualifications

Certification(s) Forklift and/or Reach Truck and/or box clamp and/or skid steer.
Ability to operate a scan gun.
Ability to use a computer for basic skills, including but not limited to Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook (email), and an inventory management system.

Work Environment

Work is generally performed in a warehouse environment. The noise level is moderate. Generally, well ventilated, and well lit. Warehouse team members may be required to wear protective clothing. Additionally, may operate heavy equipment and strict safety regulations may be required.

Physical Effort

Work is physically strenuous and team members are required to lift heavy packages up to 50 pounds. Work may require excessive bending or stooping. Team members may be required to climb ladders, use hand tools, and/or use heavy machinery (e.g., forklift, etc.).
