About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Kitchen Attendant to join our team at Whole Foods Market. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about delivering exceptional customer service and maintaining a clean and safe kitchen environment.

Job Summary
  • The successful candidate will be responsible for performing all duties related to dishwashing, cleaning, and maintaining the overall cleanliness of the kitchen area.
  • This role requires effective time management skills, strong communication abilities, and a passion for natural foods and the mission of Whole Foods Market.
Responsibilities
  • Wash, rinse, and sanitize dishes, pots, pans, utensils, and small wares to ensure a clean and hygienic kitchen environment.
  • Maintain the cleanliness of floors, mats, drains, walls, and shelves in the kitchen area, adhering to WFM standards.
  • Assist with kitchen deliveries, including proper storage, organization, and rotation of products.
  • Ensure timely arrival at work stations, maintain appropriate grooming and dress code, and work all scheduled shifts as required.
  • Provide excellent customer service by addressing customer needs promptly and effectively, modeling suggestive selling techniques, and answering phones and pages courteously.
  • Maximize sales potential through effective procedures for prepping, storing, rotating, stocking, and merchandising product.
  • Follow established procedures for Weights and Measures, health and sanitation, and safe work practices.
  • Maintain a clean and sanitary working and shopping environment, ensuring equipment is kept in accordance with WFM cleanliness and safety standards.
  • Perform opening, mid, and closing duties as assigned, ensuring accuracy of signs and pricing, and report safety hazards immediately.

  • Ability to meet customer service expectations and standards in all interactions.
  • Ability to follow directions and procedures, manage time effectively, and stay organized.

  • A strong work ethic and ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a sense of urgency.
Working Conditions
  • Lift up to 50 pounds during an 8-hour workday.
  • Stand/walk for 6-8 hours in an 8-hour workday.
  • Hand use: single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing, and pulling.
  • Work requires bending, twisting, squatting, and reaching motions.
  • Exposure to FDA-approved cleaning chemicals and temperatures up to 90°F.
  • Ability to work in wet and dry conditions and use tools/equipment, including knives, box cutters, and electric pallet jacks.
  • May require ladder usage.
