Key Responsibilities:
- Conducts routine and complex laboratory tests in the designated area, ensuring compliance with age and sex-specific values.
- Operates, maintains, and troubleshoots laboratory equipment, performing minor repairs or coordinating with biomedical services as necessary.
- Participates in cross-training across various laboratory sections to enhance operational flexibility.
- Ensures adherence to the laboratory's quality control protocols.
- Calculates, inputs, and verifies laboratory results accurately.
- Utilizes the Laboratory Information System effectively.
- Documents and communicates critical laboratory findings promptly.
- Handles patient specimens with care, including collection and distribution, while being mindful of pediatric specimen volume requirements.
- Engages in the assessment, development, and implementation of new or revised testing procedures.
- Exhibits competence in delivering patient care that aligns with the specific needs of the population served.
- Adapts assessment and treatment methods to meet the unique physical, psychosocial, and cultural needs of each patient.

- Completes all mandatory compliance and regulatory tasks, adhering to relevant policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s Degree or higher in a relevant scientific field from an accredited institution, or equivalent laboratory training and experience as defined by regulatory standards.
- One year of experience is required for graduates from an accredited clinical laboratory training program.
- Two years of clinical laboratory experience, including rotations in Blood Banking, Microbiology, Chemistry, Hematology, Immunology, and Urinalysis/Body Fluids.
- New graduates must be Board Certified or eligible, with certification to be completed within one year of hire.
This position is full-time and plays a crucial role in maintaining the high standards of laboratory services at CHRISTUS Health.
