Medical Assistant

McFarland Clinic is seeking a highly skilled Medical Assistant to join its Neurology team in Ames. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our healthcare team.
Responsibilities:
Assist in the Neurological healthcare and patient care management with McFarland Clinic's customer service standards.
Room patients and family members, take vitals, make referrals, prior authorizations, give injections, make patient phone calls, medication refills, and assist physicians with procedures.
Update medical records in EMR, verify and update medication lists, and push wheelchairs as needed.
Requirements:
Graduate of an accredited program for Medical Assistants or an accredited school of nursing.
Certification/License: Certification from the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) or certification as a Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) from American Medical Technologists (AMT), NAHP, NCCT, NHAP.
Possession of a State Licensed Practical Nurse license or a State Registered Nurse license.
Current Basic Life Support Certification for Healthcare Providers.
