Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Respiratory Care Practitioner Transport to join our team at Methodist Children's Hospital. As a key member of our respiratory care team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality patient-centered care to critically ill patients in a fast-paced transport environment.

Responsibilities
  • Assess and diagnose patients with cardiopulmonary disorders, utilizing in-depth assessment skills and performing comprehensive patient evaluations.
  • Develop and implement individualized plans of care, collaborating with the healthcare team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  • Administer respiratory care and life support therapies, including ECMO, to patients with severely impaired heart/lung function.
  • Evaluate patient responses to interventions and modify the plan of care as needed, in conjunction with the TRN.
  • Anticipate and prevent complications, utilizing advanced skills specific to care of critically ill patients in the transport environment.
Requirements
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support certification within 30 days of employment start date.
  • State Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) licensure.
  • Associate Degree in Respiratory Care Practitioner program.
  • Two (2) years of direct care respiratory care experience in a specialized critical care area (NICU, PICU, ED).
  • Prior transport experience is preferred.
