United Performance Metals is seeking a dedicated Mechanical Engineer to drive continuous improvement in our manufacturing processes. Key Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate and optimize manufacturing processes by designing and conducting research programs, applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials, and conferring with equipment vendors.
  • Develop and implement manufacturing processes by studying product requirements, researching, designing, modifying, and testing manufacturing methods, equipment, and new technologies, and conferring with equipment vendors.
  • Improve manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning workflow, space requirements, and equipment layout.
  • Assure product and process quality by designing testing methods and control systems, testing finished-product and process capabilities, establishing standards, confirming manufacturing processes, and yielding in maximum efficiency.
  • Assist in identifying and implementing corrective action for nonconforming parts.
  • Manage overall project management for the team.
Additional Responsibilities:
  • Program machine and measuring equipment, investigate programming equipment failures, diagnose faulty operations, and provide solutions.
  • Analyze, identify, and enact procedures and/or processes to resolve production problems and/or minimize cost.
  • Design manufacturing equipment fixturing, tooling, and gauging design, machine programming, quality engineering process design, and implementation, customer blue-print interpretation, and internal print design and creation.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related tasks as needed.
