About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Sensor and Signal Processing Engineer to join our team at The Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in developing algorithms and assessing the performance of next-generation sensors for land, air, and sea-launched interceptors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Derive requirements and perform trade studies for sophisticated sensor systems
  • Develop, implement, test, and verify high-fidelity, physics-based simulations of sensors and environments
  • Research concepts and develop simulations and algorithms related to signal propagation, signal detection, and air and space borne sensor systems
  • Act as APL's representative with sponsors and contractors, leading teams to solve difficult problems in air and missile defense
Qualifications
  • Master's degree in electrical engineering, applied math, physics, computer science, or a related field
  • 2+ years of experience working with signal processing algorithm development
  • Skilled in simulating or analyzing electromagnetic signals, environments, or sensors
  • Experienced in algorithm development for signal processing
  • Proficient in one or more of the following programming languages: MATLAB, C++, or Python
  • Demonstrated experience in sponsor and contractor interactions that lead to tasking and can communicate sponsor requirements and requests to a team
  • Ability to obtain an Interim Secret level security clearance by start date and ultimately obtain a Top Secret level clearance
