About the Role

This Diesel Mechanic position requires a strong background in mechanical repairs and diagnostics on heavy-duty and medium-duty equipment. The successful candidate will perform vehicle maintenance and repair duties, including standard vehicle maintenance, preventive maintenance, and diagnosing complex mechanical and electronic problems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Performs vehicle maintenance and repair duties, including routine preventative maintenance, diagnostic repairs, and facility maintenance duties.
  • Interacts with customers/drivers to properly determine the nature of complaints once assigned a task.
  • Utilizes key functions of Shop Management System and electronic documentation available.
  • Works in accordance with all federal/provincial and corporate compliance guidelines (i.e., safety, DOT, MOT).

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Vocational or Technical Certification, Post-Secondary degree or Technical Certifications, preferred
  • Basic tools required
  • Demonstrated aptitude and applied experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines, including routine preventative maintenance, diagnostic repairs, and facility maintenance duties.
  • Three (3) years or more relevant work experience, preferred
  • Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) CLASS A, preferred
  • All other certification as required by location, required
