Large Animal Technician

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Large Animal Technician to join our team at Lampire Biological Laboratories. As a key member of our animal care team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional care and attention to our large animals, ensuring their health and well-being.
Key Responsibilities- Provide daily care and attention to large animals, including feeding, watering, and monitoring their health and well-being.
- Assist with daily production tasks, such as injections, bleeding, and milking.
- Maintain clean and sanitary living environments for animals by cleaning pens, stalls, and animal housing areas.
- Document findings and job completions in required logs.
- Safely handle large animals for various procedures, including medical treatments, grooming, and transportation.
- Assist with general maintenance tasks to keep animal facilities in good repair and ensure a safe environment.
- Provide mental and physical stimulation for animals through enrichment activities and environmental improvements.
- Adhere to all relevant animal welfare regulations, industry standards, and facility protocols.
- Animal Science degree or 4 or more years of animal-related experience.
- Good oral and written communication skills (English).
- Windows-based computer skills, familiarity with Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Good organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- A valid driver's license in good standing for a minimum of 3 years.
- Ability to work rotating holidays and weekends.
- Team player with a strong work ethic.
- Exposure to extremes in temperature and occasional farm equipment.
- Noise level in the work environment and job sites can vary from minimal to loud.
