Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Licensed Veterinary Technician to join our team at Bayview Animal Hospital. As a key member of our veterinary team, you will be responsible for assisting veterinarians in the treatment of animals, performing various medical procedures, and providing exceptional client service.
Key Responsibilities- Assist veterinarians in the treatment of animals, including restraint, radiology, emergency procedures, surgical and dental procedures, nursing care, and client education.
- Obtain laboratory samples and perform necessary tests.
- Administer and fill prescription medications.
- Maintain treatment rooms, including equipment and supplies.
- Provide courteous and professional client communication, including face-to-face, telephone, and email interactions.
- Maintain accurate medical records and demonstrate professional behavior at all times.
- Associates Degree in Veterinary Technology required.
- Valid New York State Veterinary Technology license.
- Ability to lift heavy pets and objects (up to 40lbs).
- Comfortable handling large animals and exotic pets.
- Ability to stand for long periods and perform bending, squatting, reaching, and pulling.
