About the Role
The University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) is seeking a skilled Security Technician to join our team. As a Security Technician, you will be responsible for providing technical support in the installation, repair, and maintenance of locks and security systems to Facilities Services teams, Medical Center, and the University at large.
Key Responsibilities
- Door preparation, installation of locks, exit devices, door closers, electronic hardware, cameras, card readers, alarm panels, and associated devices.
- Repairing and providing preventative maintenance to doors, locks, exit devices, key fabrication, and miscellaneous electronic security systems.
- Ability to read, write, and perform basic arithmetic calculations and reports.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and security system schematics.
- Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and work in a fast-paced environment.
Requirements
- High School Graduate
- Two (2) years lock and security systems technician apprenticeship or equivalent education and experience
- Ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing with campus departments at all levels, contractors, and design consultants
- Ability to effectively interact with a diverse professional staff both independently and as a team member in a busy environment
