The Position

We are seeking a highly skilled Automation Engineer to support the design and implementation of automation for process or utility systems. The successful candidate will provide input, review, and approve design and requirement specifications, secure proper and efficient implementation and qualification, and support production and other stakeholders.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of process control systems, including PLCs, HMI, PCS/DCS, and SCADA systems. They will also have experience with troubleshooting and resolving complex problems, as well as a proven track record of planning and organizing projects.

Responsibilities
  • Support troubleshooting during process downtime
  • Develop and manage plans to maintain and improve process control systems
  • Implement and manage systems and interfaces
  • Support and manage corporate, product supply, DAPI, site, stakeholder, and departmental initiatives and projects
  • Provide technical clarifications with suppliers and internal stakeholders
  • Operate as an automation resource on projects that involve process control systems
  • Adhere to automation standards
  • Coach and train colleagues and stakeholders in relevant areas and develop training material when necessary
  • Utilize the appropriate cLEAN tools to solve problems or improve processes
  • Manage assignments within compliance with a Quality Mindset that focuses on risk management and mitigation
  • Ensure quality of systems adhere to company standards
  • Adhere to Change Management standards
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of experience and education
  • Minimum of two years of engineering experience in process-based manufacturing (API, formulation, etc.), utility, and/or packaging systems
  • Knowledgeable in troubleshooting automated/IT system issues, including interfaces and hardware components
  • Knowledgeable in PLC (Rockwell), HMI, PCS/DCS (DeltaV preferred), Historian (OSI PI preferred), SCADA systems, MES (Syncade, etc.) preferred, MS SQL preferred
