Job Summary
The HVAC Technician 1 exemplifies professionalism through effective communication and appearance, delivering outstanding service to our clients. This role involves the delivery of portable HVAC equipment, showcasing skills in the operation and maintenance of all company equipment. Additionally, the technician will primarily work in the shop to maintain organization, cleanliness, and safety, while learning to check in, clean, and prepare equipment for rental and support other technicians on larger projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Engages professionally with customers, management, and sales engineers to coordinate deliveries, pickups, and service requests.
- Delivers and installs HVAC rental equipment, providing training to authorized operators and customers on safe equipment usage.
- Ensures customers complete necessary documentation and tracks equipment serial numbers.
- Effectively troubleshoots the operation, specifications, and controls of rental equipment.
- Operates company vehicles safely, adhering to all safety protocols.
- Cleans and tests returned equipment to ensure it meets operational and aesthetic standards.
- Completes all required paperwork for deliveries, pickups, and service calls.
- Installs flexible gas hoses for both propane and natural gas applications.
- Implements safe procedures for checking gas connections.
- Collaborates with management and sales engineers to maintain accurate records of in-stock and rented equipment.
- Available for emergency service calls on a rotating schedule, including weekends and evenings.
- 1-2 years of experience in a customer service-oriented role.
- Basic math skills are required.
- Mechanical aptitude is essential.
- A valid driver's license with a clean driving record is mandatory.
- Applicants must be at least 21 years old.
- Willingness to work after hours and weekends during peak periods is necessary.
