Position Summary: The Physical Security Officer plays a crucial role in safeguarding ERCOT's facilities against unauthorized access and potential threats. This position encompasses a variety of responsibilities aimed at maintaining a secure environment for employees and visitors alike.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Implement access control measures for personnel, vehicles, and materials.
  • Facilitate visitor security access processes.
  • Utilize communication devices and technology for effective monitoring.
  • Oversee alarm systems and CCTV operations.
  • Conduct regular security patrols to identify and address safety concerns.
  • Provide first response services in emergencies.
  • Document incidents and equipment issues that may affect security operations.
  • Engage with ERCOT staff and visitors professionally and courteously.
  • Prepare detailed reports of events and incidents.
  • Fulfill additional duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in physical security, law enforcement, military, or customer service roles is required.
Education:
  • High School Diploma or GED is mandatory.
  • Equivalent knowledge through a combination of education and experience is necessary.
Licenses:
  • Preferred: Texas Department of Public Safety Level III Commissioned Security Officer.
Additional Requirements:
  • Successful completion of a physical abilities test as per security training guidelines.
  • Completion of state-required training or qualifications for licensing.

This position is essential for maintaining the integrity and safety of ERCOT's operations. The role requires a commitment to professionalism and adherence to established security protocols.
