The Real-Time Communication (RTC) Services team comprises specialists dedicated to delivering value-added services that cater to the diverse needs of our Audio, Video, and Telephony Infrastructure.
Key ResponsibilitiesOur primary objectives include:
- Developing a premier Compliance Recording and Surveillance Service for RTC.
- Facilitating interoperability among internal and external RTC systems.
- Processing media for Broadcast, Streaming, and AI workflows.
The team is actively addressing several challenges, including:
- Creating a unified platform for Compliance Recording and Media Streaming/Broadcasting.
- Enhancing interoperability among the various Audio, Video, and Telephony solutions we provide.
- Integrating with third-party Audio, Video, and Telephony solutions.
As the team leader, you will be instrumental in shaping the vision for the next generation of Real-Time Communication Services. We seek an exceptional collaborator with a proven track record in hiring, developing, and leading diverse teams.
Responsibilities Include:- Recruiting, mentoring, and cultivating a diverse engineering team.
- Gaining a comprehensive understanding of the domain and client requirements.
- Identifying and championing innovative opportunities.
- Collaborating with stakeholders across Product, Engineering, and the Developer community.
- Driving innovation and guiding the technical direction of the team.
- Being a hands-on leader, engaging in pair programming, peer reviews, and product development.
- Promoting agile methodologies to enhance efficiency and quality.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in engineering leadership.
- Experience in roles focused on people leadership.
- Proficiency in designing, building, and maintaining production systems using C++/Java and Python.
- Experience in developing back-end infrastructure for Real-Time Communication.
- Strong foundation in distributed systems design and development.
- Experience in creating and managing scalable, resilient systems.
- A proactive approach with excellent communication skills.
- A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
We would appreciate seeing:
- A demonstrated history of successful team hiring and development.
- Experience in launching or leading greenfield projects.
- A proven record of building applications and scaling complex distributed systems.
- Familiarity with WebRTC or similar video conferencing technologies.
- Knowledge of media formats (MP4, WebM), codecs (VP8, VP9, AV1, Opus), and video conferencing protocols/standards.
- Understanding of Asterisk and SIP protocols.
- Experience with contributions to open-source projects.
