Position Summary

The Medical Officer will act as the primary healthcare provider and health authority as mandated by national standards. This role involves overseeing clinical services at the facility to ensure the effective provision of necessary medical care, without additional managerial duties.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Graduation from an accredited medical institution.
  • Valid medical license to practice in the relevant state.
  • Current DEA Registration.
  • Board Certification is preferred.
  • Proficiency in the English language, including reading, writing, speaking, and comprehension.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as a team member.
  • Capacity to make independent decisions when necessary.
  • Skill in interacting tactfully with personnel, families, visitors, and the public.
  • Demonstrated leadership and supervisory skills.
  • Experience in sub-acute inpatient care and hospitalist practice is required.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Consult with community medical providers to address service delivery issues.
  • Supervise clinical services provided by both professional and support staff.
  • Provide on-call medical services as needed.
  • Review and approve clinical protocols, policies, and emergency plans annually.
  • Manage referrals to external healthcare facilities for quality and continuity of care.
  • Support Physician Assistants and Nurse Practitioners in compliance with state regulations.
  • Act as a resource for all medical staff at the facility.
  • Participate in the recruitment and evaluation of healthcare providers.
  • Engage in training sessions for staff development.
  • Represent the healthcare program in discussions with community groups as needed.
  • Attend required medical and clinical meetings.
  • Document all patient interactions in medical records accurately.
  • Ensure all documentation is timely, legible, and properly signed.
  • Adhere to established medical protocols and formulary guidelines.
  • Provide emergency care on-site and respond effectively to urgent situations.
  • Commit to redefining industry benchmarks through core values and innovative healthcare strategies.
  • Maintain competence in basic life support techniques.
  • Follow evidence-based medical standards in accordance with existing policies.
