Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Interventional Radiology Technologist to join our team at Kaiser Permanente. As an Angiogram Specialist, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our Diagnostic Imaging Department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform a variety of angio interventional procedures on patients of all ages, exercising professional attitude and judgment in the performance of duties.
  • Evaluate images for technical quality and provide patient care essential to angio interventional procedures.
  • Recognize patient conditions requiring immediate action and initiate life support measures.
  • Uphold Kaiser Permanente's Policies and Procedures, Principles of Responsibilities, and applicable state, federal, and local laws.
  • Provide compassionate service, treat coworkers with respect and appreciation, and foster teamwork and positive thinking.
  • Identify the impact of cultural diversity and lifestyle choices on patient condition and make accommodations for such differences.
  • Consistently select correct technical factors relative to the requirements of the study and the patient's age and body habitus.
  • Process radiographic images properly, utilizing automated equipment, and use proper sterile technique.
  • Operate imaging computer properly and in accordance with department protocols (CT, MRI).
  • Demonstrate knowledge of and use ancillary equipment (e.g., catheters, guidewires, etc.) properly.
Requirements
  • Minimum two (2) years experience as a staff technologist in Interventional Radiology or successful completion of the department angiography interventional training program.
  • Radiologic Technologist Certificate (California)
  • Certified Radiologic Technologist - Fluoroscopy Certificate (California)
  • Radiologic Technologist Certification from American Registry of Radiologic Technologists
  • Basic Life Support within 3 months of hire
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certificate of advanced qualification: ARRT-Vascular Interventional Radiography (VI) and/or Cardiovascular Interventional Radiography (CV)
  • Venipuncture Certificate
  • Additional training in the use and practices of angiography interventional procedures
Work Environment

This is a full-time position with a 40-hour workweek. The schedule includes rotational after-hours, weekend, and holiday standby/call. The location is Kaiser Permanente's Zion Medical Center in San Diego, California.
