Position Overview:
The Superior Court of California, County of Kern is seeking dedicated individuals for the position of Court Services Specialist Trainee/I/II. This role involves performing essential clerical functions to support court operations effectively.

Trainee Level:
As a Trainee, you will work under close supervision, engaging in routine legal clerical tasks that adhere to established court protocols. Successful completion of this level may lead to promotion to Court Services Specialist I.

Court Services Specialist I/II:
In this specialized clerical role, you will handle a comprehensive range of clerical duties, providing crucial support to court operations. This position requires a keen understanding of legal processes and the ability to work independently as you progress to the II level.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Review and assess legal documents for accuracy and compliance.
2. Prepare and maintain court-related documents and exhibits.
3. Provide information regarding court procedures and assist individuals in navigating legal processes.
4. Manage financial transactions, including fines and fees, ensuring accurate record-keeping.
5. Support jury-related activities, including juror qualification and compensation tracking.

Minimum Qualifications:
1. Educational equivalent to a high school diploma or G.E.D.
2. Trainee: One year of clerical experience.
3. Specialist I: One year of experience in a legal or court environment.
4. Specialist II: Two years of relevant experience.

Skills Required:
- Proficient typing skills (minimum 35 net wpm).
- Strong understanding of clerical and recordkeeping practices.
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and maintain composure in challenging situations.

Physical Requirements:
This position involves sedentary office work, requiring dexterity and the ability to perform repetitive tasks. Candidates must be able to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally and engage in various physical activities related to office tasks.
