Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Data Technician Senior to join our team at Compton Unified School District. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing technical assistance and training to users regarding data processing system applications, participating in the design, modification, and testing of data processing systems, and ensuring accuracy of data and compliance with reporting requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Compile data and analyze computer output reports and summaries for quality control and accuracy using database management software such as Aeries.
  • Operate a variety of data processing machines and related equipment such as sorters, printers, and scanners to process District, school, and department computer runs and reports.
  • Receive data from departments and school sites, verify accuracy and completeness of data, and input and code incoming data such as grades, testing, class rosters, and attendance into assigned computerized system.
  • Process, assemble, and distribute a variety of school, District, and departmental reports such as school attendance rosters, testing, grades, and student progress reports.
  • Communicate orally and through written reports to provide technical support and training to staff in data entry and student information, assist in maintaining and updating training materials, and troubleshoot student information system problems.
Requirements
  • Associates Degree from an accredited college/university.
  • Two years of experience in database processing within a network environment.
  • One year of experience providing computer technical support to individuals or small teams.
  • Experience with student information systems is highly desirable.
