Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Coordinator of Sponsored Programs to join our team at Louisiana State University of Alexandria. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing professional development opportunities, identifying potential grant sources, and overseeing communication processes to ensure timely submission of grant applications and execution of contracts.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement professional development opportunities to promote interest in sponsored program opportunities and to facilitate training in the skills needed for pursuing them.
  • Identify potential grant sources from federal, state, and local governmental agencies, non-profit foundations, and other sources to support the mission and strategic priorities of the university.
  • Oversee communication processes to ensure timely submission of grant applications, execution of contracts, compliance with agreements, and the administration of all awarded grants and contracts.
  • Advise Principal Investigators on all financial transactions, such as travel, purchasing, or subcontracting.
  • Act as liaison between Academic Affairs and Finance in the development and reporting of sponsored programs.
  • Review on a regular basis the university's policies and practices regarding grant development, submission, financial allocation, and reporting.
  • Provide communication and training to key campus stakeholders regarding sponsored program policies and practices.
  • Monitor contracts to ensure compliance with performance, invoicing, amendments, renewals, and closeout.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree; master's degree preferred.
  • Expertise in grant writing, management, and reporting.
  • Excellent writing and editing skills.
  • Experience with budget management and reporting.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
  • Effective verbal communication and presentation skills.
  • Effective technical and software skills to navigate reporting and application processes.

Additional Information:
The Coordinator of Sponsored Programs is responsible for the management and oversight of externally-funded projects at LSU Alexandria. The Coordinator works with key university stakeholders to facilitate the pursuit and implementation of sponsored programs and funding opportunities that support the mission and strategic priorities of the university. The Coordinator holds a 12-month, on-campus professional staff position reporting to the Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs.
