About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team at West Fraser. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our plant equipment and facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on plant equipment, machinery, and tools to ensure optimal performance and efficiency.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions using technical knowledge and diagnostic tools.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance tasks, such as inspections, adjustments, and lubrications, to prevent equipment failures.
  • Install, replace, repair, and assemble equipment, parts, and accessories as needed.
  • Operate various mechanical and electronic test equipment to diagnose and troubleshoot equipment issues.
  • Work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as scheduled or required.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment, adhering to all safety protocols and regulations.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent education.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in maintenance, repair, and operations (MRO) in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with precision alignment of motors, couplings, bearings, and pumps.
  • Experience troubleshooting issues with bearings, chains, sprockets, gearboxes, and conveyors.
  • Experience reading blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems, including troubleshooting and repair.
  • Experience using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • Experience performing lubrication preventative maintenance and troubleshooting lubrication-related failures.
