Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Maintenance Technician to join our team at West Fraser, Inc. As an Electrical Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for performing routine electrical preventative maintenance on mill equipment, repairing and modifying electrical and electronic equipment, and performing tasks such as wiring circuits and repairing electronic devices.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine electrical preventative maintenance on mill equipment
  • Repair and modify electrical and electronic equipment
  • Wiring circuits and repairing electronic devices
  • Perform test readings using various instruments, including multi-meter and Megger
  • Remain current in technical changes or equipment designs by attending classes as needed
  • Work rotating shifts, including nights, holidays, weekends, and overtime as scheduled or required
  • Willing and able to maintain strict adherence to safety rules and regulations, including wearing safety equipment and completing all required training
Requirements
  • High School or GED
  • Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills
  • Background in Electrical fundamentals
  • Knowledge in 3 phase and single-phase power distribution systems, motor controls, wiring, and troubleshooting of such systems
  • Experience with 480-volt power and logic circuits
  • Strong computer, math, analytical, and planning skills
  • Ability to understand and follow electrical schematics proficiently without supervision
  • Familiar with machine control systems
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex machine control systems
Preferred Qualifications
  • VFD drives experience
  • PLC Experience
  • Able to interpret PLC logic as it relates to its application to process and equipment for troubleshooting purposes
