Ceded Reinsurance Analyst

Position Overview:

Incline P&C Group is seeking a dedicated Ceded Reinsurance Analyst to enhance their dynamic Underwriting division. This role is essential in assisting the Director of Reinsurance with the management and execution of effective treaty placements that support direct underwriting functions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate closely with the Director of Reinsurance, Underwriting, Actuarial, Claims, Operations, and other relevant departments to assess reinsurance needs and evaluate structural alternatives.
  • Establish and nurture relationships with reinsurance brokers and markets to facilitate successful placements, ensure the execution of contract language, timely claims disbursements, and acquire market insights.
  • Coordinate with Underwriting, Finance, Actuarial, and Claims teams to compile data necessary for preparing reinsurance submissions (data will be provided to brokers for submission preparation).
  • Engage with the Legal Department to draft reinsurance contract language in line with company protocols.
  • Assess treaty reinsurance proposals; assist in negotiating agreements to meet business objectives.
  • Oversee the availability of documentation and scheduling for claims, underwriting, transactional, and Ceded Re audits, including those conducted by external auditors.
  • Manage and track the execution of contract language to ensure complete compliance and maintain an electronic filing system.
  • Summarize Treaty Terms and create Schematics.
  • Maintain a Reinsurance Resume document that records historical details of previously written treaties.
  • Stay informed about industry trends and developments.

Qualifications:

  • 1 to 3 years of experience in Reinsurance or Insurance-related roles.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, along with strong interpersonal abilities.
  • Proficient negotiation skills.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and strong analytical capabilities.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Experience collaborating with various internal teams, including underwriting, claims, actuarial, finance, and IT departments.
