Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Aerial Lift Technician to join our team at the Oakland Zoo. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our aerial lifts and tramways.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform daily testing, inspection, and maintenance of mechanical and electrical systems
  • Conduct routine repairs and replacements of tramway components
  • Assist in rope splicing, installation, and replacement
  • Inspect and measure tramway components for wear and damage
  • Collaborate with the Lift Manager to address incidents and system malfunctions
Requirements
  • High mechanical aptitude and basic knowledge of mechanical and electrical trades
  • Ability to install large and heavy components related to aerial tramways
  • Commitment to following and enforcing all safety standards, including OSHA
  • Ability to work independently on mechanical and electrical systems
  • Ability to read complex manuals and write routine reports in English
  • Ability to work at heights up to 100ft and in all weather conditions
Preferred Qualifications
  • At least 1 year of industrial maintenance, aerial tramway, or rides experience
  • Trade School experience
  • Experience with Pro Engineer
  • Experience using Auto Service Excel
