About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Engineer to join our team in the AWS Infrastructure Services organization. As an Electrical Engineer, you will play a critical role in the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure.

You will be responsible for leading design projects in operational data centers, remedying issues, upgrading existing infrastructure, or adding new services. You will be the go-to engineering resource for these projects and will provide lifecycle support from design through implementation.

As an Electrical Engineer, you will use your expertise to own the design for existing data center upgrades and design solutions that add data center infrastructure, capacity, improve availability, and/or increase sustainability. You will also prepare and review short circuit coordination studies and maintain software models to match as-built site conditions.

You will interface with internal and external data center design engineering teams, server hardware teams, environmental health and safety teams, field engineering, and controls engineering to promote standards that maintain consistency and reliability in services delivered.

You will work on concurrent projects, sometimes in multiple geographical regions, and act as a technical subject matter expert for your given discipline during new remediation projects. You will also support construction, commissioning, operations, and turnover.

About the Job

This is a unique opportunity to work on projects that are critical to the success of AWS. As an Electrical Engineer, you will have the opportunity to work on projects globally and lead first-of-a-kind designs for innovative solutions.

You will prioritize your activities to closely collaborate with capacity planning & delivery teams to identify opportunities to increase capacity utilization and develop designs for projects to unblock the additional capacity.

You will have the opportunity to work on projects locally and globally, and you will be responsible for managing design and as-built drawings and documents, preparing and presenting progress reports to all relevant stakeholders, and building trust and relationships with different stakeholders.

We are looking for a highly skilled Electrical Engineer who possesses strong engineering judgment and is able to provide design and recommendations despite uncertainty. You should be detail and data-oriented with familiarity with design/construction processes and have experience managing engineering projects and engineering consultants.

You should be able to build trust and relationships with different stakeholders, manage design and as-built drawings and documents, prepare and present progress reports to all relevant stakeholders, and be inclined to get into the field to see things up close.
