Alterations Customer Service Representative Job Description

At David's Bridal, we're seeking a skilled Alterations Customer Service Representative to join our team. As a key member of our Alterations department, you'll play a critical role in delivering exceptional customer service and ensuring our customers receive the highest level of care for their alterations needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Welcome and service customers with genuine enthusiasm, adapting your style to suit their needs and resolving conflicts effectively.
  • Manage customer flow using all systems to deliver a five-star customer experience.
  • Meet all service vows, including Prepare, Welcome, Meet Needs, and Be There for all customers, and complete operational checklist tasks.
  • Provide an exceptional service experience to multiple customers at once, addressing concerns with confidence and escalating issues when necessary.
  • Effectively communicate the importance of alterations in perfecting the dress for special events.
  • Promote all alterations services and personalization options.
  • Maintain store standards, including cleanliness, organization, and promotional readiness, to support a flawless shopping experience.
  • Greet and escort alterations customers to and from appointments.
  • Press, steam, and spot clean all merchandise.
  • Follow quality control guidelines and inspect garments to ensure pristine condition before delivery to customers.
  • Build long-term relationships to meet and exceed customer satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Support inventory management by processing special orders, pick-ups, and first-quality standards for all merchandise.
  • Support cash wrap behaviors and process transactions with accuracy to ensure every customer feels celebrated.
  • Seek assistance from the Alterations Manager to address customer issues that cannot be resolved.
  • Maintain a clean and well-organized alterations room.
Physical Demands:
  • Occasionally required to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods; reach for tools and objects with hands and arms; climb stairs; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; ability to bend, twist, and stand; move throughout the store; and talk to and hear customers.
Education & Credentials:
  • High school diploma or equivalent degree.
  • 1-2 years prior retail experience in an apparel or specialty store environment.
  • Prior sewing experience is helpful.
  • Prior experience with computerized POS (Point of Sale) systems.
