Job Summary

The Levy Group of Companies is seeking a highly skilled Chemist to join our team at our laboratory in Indiana. As a Chemist, you will conduct chemical and physical laboratory tests of solid materials, liquids, and gases, and analyze test data for various purposes, such as research, product development, quality control, and establishing standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Sample Preparation: Prepare samples for analysis and ensure they meet the required standards.
  • Testing and Analysis: Perform chemical and physical testing of samples to determine strength, stability, chemical content, and other characteristics.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Set up and maintain laboratory equipment and instrumentation required for tests, research, or process control.
  • Data Analysis: Enter information into computer systems, provide data analysis and interpretation, and plot data on control charts.
  • Reporting and Record-Keeping: Generate reports and maintain records of laboratory tests and results.

Requirements

  • Education: Minimum Bachelor's Degree in chemical technology or applied sciences (physics, mathematics, engineering, natural sciences) or equivalent.
  • Skills: Ability to sit, stand, walk for extended periods of time and lift 50 lbs. Ability to climb ladders, scaffolding, and stockpiles. Ability and willingness to work with hazardous chemicals (i.e. strong acids and bases). Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and LIMS Systems. Knowledge of XRF and ICP operation. Exposure to the glass industry a plus. Knowledge of statistical analysis. Good verbal and written communication skills. Valid Driver's License and excellent driving record.
