Role Summary:
The Human Resources Specialist plays a vital role in providing comprehensive human resources support to various units within the College of Family and Consumer Sciences. Reporting to the Assistant Director of Human Resources, this position is integral to the Office of Finance and Human Resources.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee human resources operations, including position management, recruitment processes, and compliance with regulations.
  • Facilitate onboarding and offboarding processes, ensuring a smooth transition for employees.
  • Manage the dedicated human resources communication channels and maintain documentation.
  • Provide guidance on human resources policies and best practices to faculty and staff.

Essential Skills and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • Three years of experience in human resources, preferably within an academic setting.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build effective relationships.
  • Proficiency in data management and human resources software.

Work Environment:
This position is based in a standard office environment, requiring attention to detail and the ability to manage confidential information. The role does not involve driving or direct interaction with children.
