Bariatric Medicine Acute Care Nurse Practitioner

Sentara Medical Group is in search of an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) with a background in surgical specialties to become a vital part of the Sentara Comprehensive Weight Loss Solutions team. The selected APP will be responsible for managing a diverse group of bariatric patients, including those who have undergone surgical weight loss and those who have not.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
  • Hybrid model: Telehealth services 1-2 days per week
  • Combination of inpatient (less than 50% of the day) and outpatient responsibilities
  • Focus on pre and post-operative care for bariatric patients, including the prescription of anti-obesity medications
  • Manage an average patient load of 16-18 per day
  • No on-call duties expected
