Position Title: Non-Returning Ski & Snowboard School Professionals, All Levels.

Status: Full-Time, Seasonal, Non-Exempt Hourly

Job Responsibilities:

Earn a competitive wage while teaching our guests across our stunning 10,000 acres. We aim for our guests to develop a lasting love for Powder Mountain, just as we have since our inception.

This application is specifically for non-returning, new-to-Powder Mountain Ski and Snowboard School candidates. This is a general application for all Ski School Certification levels, with designations assigned during the interview process.

Core Responsibilities for PSIA/AASI (or equivalent) certified Level 1, 2, and 3 Instructors:

  • Focus on delivering a positive guest experience both on the mountain and within Powder Mountain facilities.
  • Exhibit proficient skiing/snowboarding and teaching techniques while adhering to safety best practices.
  • Create a safe and enjoyable learning atmosphere.
  • Provide lessons for a diverse range of participants, including beginners, adults, and children.
  • Engage proactively with guests during the check-in process to establish trust.
  • Offer constructive feedback to encourage new skiers/snowboarders and foster a desire to return.
  • Ensure guests are equipped with suitable ski/snowboard gear and safety equipment.
Qualifications:
  • Ability to ski and/or snowboard safely on blue terrain.
  • Previous experience in a guest services role as a ski instructor or within the ski industry is preferred.
  • Positive, fun, and creative mindset, with the ability to communicate the unique aspects of Powder Mountain.
  • Ability to maintain the highest levels of guest safety during adverse weather conditions, at high altitudes, and in varying snow conditions.
  • Must be at least 18 years old and able to pass a background check.
  • Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs or assist guests onto chair lifts and into standing positions.
  • Desire to work with guests of all ages for up to 7 hours.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent is preferred.
  • Minimum of Level 1 PSIA - AASI Certification, or equivalent is preferred.
  • Crossover certification and experience are preferred.
