Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled **Vice President of Infrastructure Management** to join our team at the Rhode Island Airport Corporation. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for overseeing the management of our airport's infrastructure projects, ensuring that they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Management: Manage and oversee the planning, design, construction, and closeout of airport infrastructure projects, including airfield pavement designs, site and facilities design, commercial and airport site development layouts, utility system design, and related services.
  • Team Leadership: Supervise and direct a team of engineering and architectural project managers to support program delivery, ensuring that they have the necessary resources and support to deliver high-quality results.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Interact with various stakeholders, including operating department managers, executive staff, board members, community groups, regulators, consultants, contractors, tenants, and others on engineering matters, as appropriate.
  • Coordination and Collaboration: Coordinate with the FAA, consultants, contractors, other departments, and individuals in the planning and implementation of airside and landside projects.
  • Procurement and Contract Management: Manage the preparation of procurement documents, selection process for Architects and Engineering (A/E) firms, review and evaluation of A/E's fee proposals, and administration of construction projects.
  • Financial Management: Prepare independent estimates for consultant fees, review preliminary cost estimates and construction schedules, and manage the administration of construction projects, including pre-bid and pre-construction conferences, contract award recommendations, cost estimates, change orders, and addenda.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure environmental permitting is in compliance for various projects, review final plans, specifications, and bid documents, and negotiate contracts with A/E firms and contractors.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Master's degree preferred.
  • Experience: 5 years of progressive engineering management experience at a small, medium, or large hub airport, with extensive knowledge of the FAA coordination associated with the execution of airport capital programs.
  • Licenses and Certifications: Must have or obtain Rhode Island Professional Engineer (PE) license via reciprocity within one year from the date of hire.
  • Skills and Abilities: Excellent business acumen, ability to plan and manage multiple projects with strict deadlines, exceptional interpersonal skills, confidence in directing and coordinating staff, contractors, and consultants, and proficiency in MS Office suite, Email, Internet, and multiple engineering programs (GPS, AutoCAD).
