About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Behavioral Health Specialist to join our team at UChicago Medicine AdventHealth GlenOaks Therapeutic Day School. As a key member of our team, you will provide direct behavioral health care to students in our Transition Program, ages 17 y/o to 21 y/o.

Responsibilities
  • Assist students with performing activities of daily living.
  • Provide or assist with providing direct care, diagnostic procedures, and therapeutic interventions.
  • Observe and record behavior and activities, reporting any changes in condition and suggesting modifications to the treatment plan.
  • Establish a therapeutic relationship with assigned students and transport them to/from work locations.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor's degree.
  • One of the following certifications or licenses:
    • Paraprofessional cert, Type 73 license
    • Teacher's Cert, LBS I
    • Sub Teaching Cert
    • Prof Educator license through the ILSBE
    • LPC, LCPC, LSW or LCSW from the IDFPR
  • A BLS Provider credential from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained within 3 Months (90 days) of hire date or job transfer date.
Preferred Qualifications

We also welcome candidates with:

  • Certification specializing in Crisis Prevention from the Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI).
  • Nurse Aide credential from the Illinois Department of Public Health; Valid Illinois Driver's License.
