### Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Vocational Counselor to join our Behavioral Health team at Ascension. As a Vocational Counselor, you will play a vital role in assisting individuals with mental health and physical health issues to obtain and maintain employment through the support of the Department of Rehabilitation Program.

### Responsibilities

- Assist individuals 18 and older with mental health/physical health issues in obtaining and maintaining employment through the Department of Rehabilitation Program
- Provide emotional support to individuals through counseling and encouragement when an individual may have increased mental health symptoms when starting a new job
- Help individuals with resume writing, cover letters, mock interviews, job searching, and on-the-job support as needed
- Assist in the planning and implementation of individualized behavior support plans
- Serve as a member of the crisis response team and participate in situational debriefs as required

### Requirements

- High School diploma equivalency or 1 year of applicable cumulative job-specific experience required
- BLS Provider certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and flex schedule to assist individuals' work schedule in rare cases they need on-the-job support
