Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Structural Assessment Engineer to join our team at CONSOR Engineers. As a key member of our Structural Assessment team, you will be responsible for conducting safety inspections of bridges and other structures, preparing technical reports and electronic drawings, and assisting in inspections using various testing methods and equipment.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will have a mix of field and office opportunities, with a focus on collecting measurements, documenting structural conditions, and completing documentation while recording information on a tablet. They will also assist in the development of inspection reports, structural analysis, load ratings, and repair/retrofit design. Additionally, they will conduct safety inspections of bridges and other structures, prepare associated written technical reports and electronic drawings, and mobilize to other offices/states as required to staff additional inspection teams.

Requirements

To be considered for this role, candidates must have a Bachelor's degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited program. They should also possess excellent communication and teamwork skills, be willing to attend bridge inspection training courses based on the FHWA Bridge Inspector's Reference Manual (BIRM), and maintain current with refresher and continuing education requirements. Furthermore, they should be open to traveling out-of-state or on short notice for emergency work, and be physically able to perform bridge inspection tasks in the field, including different types of access and conditions.

Estimated Salary Range

The estimated salary range for this position is $65,000 - $90,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
