Job Overview

Key Responsibilities:

  • **Collaborate with Treatment Teams**: Work closely with mental health and medical staff to develop and review patient treatment plans, ensuring comprehensive care and effective communication.
  • **Maintain Accurate Records**: Document patient care in accordance with standards and regulations, ensuring timely and accurate records.
  • **Provide Leadership and Guidance**: Offer direction for psychiatric care delivery, contribute to program development, and supervise Advanced Practice Nurses to ensure high-quality care.
  • **Ensure Compliance**: Adhere to security regulations and ethical standards within the facility, maintaining a safe and respectful environment for patients and staff.
Requirements:
  • **Education**: Hold a Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree, with completed residency in mental health.
  • **Licensure**: Possess a current, unrestricted license to practice psychiatry in New Jersey (Forensic Evaluator designation preferred).
  • **Certifications**: Hold valid prescriptive authority (DEA and CDS) and current CPR certification.
  • **Experience**: Have experience in mental health delivery systems, preferably in a correctional environment.
  • **Skills**: Demonstrate strong critical thinking, assessment, and interpersonal communication skills, as well as proficiency in Electronic Medical Records.
