Biomedical Equipment Technician

Banner Health is seeking a highly skilled Biomed Technician III to join our Technology Management team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for implementing preventive maintenance, electrical safety, and performance verification, as well as bench and field service repairs on medical electronic equipment.
Key Responsibilities- Assist with and coordinate equipment installations and project work involving patient care and medical communications technology.
- Install, repair, and calibrate complex patient care equipment, medical communications equipment, PCs, and clinical applications networks.
- Perform scheduled/preventive maintenance, electrical safety inspections, and quality assurance on all patient care equipment.
- Provide customer relations and resolve equipment service problems by ensuring that clinical capability is restored as quickly as possible.
- Identify the need for patient care equipment education and provide user education on medical equipment.
- Train field technicians with less expertise in preventative maintenance and repair of medical equipment.
- Document all work performed and maintain parts, supplies, tools, test equipment, and technical literature.
- Associate's degree in electronics or equivalent training.
- Seven years of progressively responsible work experience in all phases of biomedical instrumentation installation, repair, and maintenance.
- Valid driver's license and eligibility for coverage under the company auto insurance policy.
- Proficiency in reading and analyzing schematic diagrams, including analog and digital circuits.
- Working knowledge of electrical and electronic fundamentals, including DC and AC circuits, semiconductor theory, digital circuit theory, and microprocessor theory.
- Proficiency in Windows PC and network operating systems, PC repair, and fundamental knowledge in Local Area Network configuration and troubleshooting.
- Knowledgeable in JCAHO standards for the Environment of Care.
- Certification by the Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation (AAMI).
- Additional related education and/or experience.
