  • Assisting in the chemistry, hematology, and microbiology areas of the laboratory

Key Responsibilities

The Laboratory Assistant will be responsible for:

  • Working independently to perform laboratory tasks
  • Assisting in the phlebotomy and processing areas
  • Coordinating duties and responsibilities with the Clinical Laboratory Scientist
  • Managing and troubleshooting computer and LIS systems
  • Performing automated instruments and tasks

Requirements

To be eligible for this position, candidates must have:

  • A high school education or equivalent experience
  • Two years of experience as a phlebotomist
  • Certification for venipuncture and skin puncture
  • Excellent communication skills in English
  • A minimum of four years of experience in a clinical laboratory
  • At least two years of LIS experience and computer knowledge
  • Good organizational skills
  • Experience with automated chemistry, hematology, or microbiology instruments
  • A BCLS Card (AHA) within 30 days of hire and maintenance
