We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced academic faculty member to join our Justice Studies Program at the Nebraska State College System. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching and mentoring students in the areas of civil law, criminal law, and criminal justice.
Key Responsibilities- Teaching and Mentoring: Provide instruction and guidance to students in the Justice Studies Program, with a focus on civil law, criminal law, and criminal justice.
- Course Development: Develop and teach new courses, as well as revise and update existing courses to ensure they remain relevant and current.
- Advising and Student Support: Provide academic advising and support to students, including helping them plan their programs of study and providing guidance on academic issues and career counseling.
- Service and Professional Development: Participate in campus and community presentations, serve on discipline and departmental committees, and engage in professional development activities to enhance teaching and research skills.
- Education: Juris Doctorate from an American Bar Association-accredited law school, or completion of at least 30 credit hours toward a doctorate in Criminal Justice with a clear focus on law.
- Experience: Three or more years of face-to-face teaching experience, preferably at the college level, in areas such as litigation, commercial law, public law, and criminal law.
- License and Certification: Current license to practice law in at least one jurisdiction.
- Education: Completed Ph.D. in Criminal Justice (or closely related terminal degree) with a clear focus on law.
- Experience: Three or more years of face-to-face teaching experience, preferably at the college level, in areas such as litigation, commercial law, public law, and criminal law.
