Job Overview

HealthRIGHT 360 is seeking a Client Safety Navigator to support a safe environment for all clients, staff, and visitors. The ideal candidate will utilize verbal de-escalation strategies to address crisis situations and client behavioral issues.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop relationships with clients who spend time on-site to support site safety.
  • Support may include targeted case management, crisis intervention, and other client services.
  • Monitor parking lot, restrooms, entrances, and exits.
  • Check in clients and visitors as assigned.
  • Work with program leadership, law enforcement, and health and safety teams to respond to client emergencies and crisis situations.
Safety Responsibilities
  • Support a safe and orderly environment for clients, staff, and visitors.
  • Direct and deflect traffic; de-escalate tense situations; and foster a safe, respectful, and welcoming environment.
  • Maintain positive, respectful, non-confrontational behaviors at all times.
  • Make regular rounds to monitor entrances, exits, offices, common areas, and building perimeter.
  • Work collaboratively with service providers and administrative staff to maintain an orderly environment.
  • Carry Narcan on person at all times and utilize it to reverse drug overdose when needed.
  • Work with local law enforcement when needed and help maintain overall safety of the program.
Administrative and Documentation Responsibilities
  • Document client services in client record within 24 hours of delivery, in compliance with agency policy and procedures, HIPAA, 42-CFR, DMH, and SAPC standards.
  • Complete Incident Reports as needed.
  • Provide Front Desk coverage as needed.
  • Actively participate in agency, site, and assigned team meetings.
  • Work collaboratively with other members of the Care Coordination team.
Requirements
  • Certified Peer Specialists encouraged to apply.
  • HS Diploma or GED required.
  • Ability to pass background check.
  • Familiarity with various supportive counseling strategies and wellness and recovery principles in working with clients with mental health, substance abuse, or co-occurring conditions, preferred.
  • Trained in crisis de-escalation tactics.
  • Ability to work with local law enforcement and leadership onsite.
  • Knowledge of Los Angeles community behavioral health and public health systems.
  • At least 2-4 years of 'lived experience' with the community behavioral health system and/or criminal justice system preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to interface well with diverse, disadvantaged populations with multiple barriers to educational and vocational success.
  • Proven ability to build strong relationships with colleagues, community organizations, and the broader community.
  • Team orientation and able to independently assume responsibility.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, planning, and time management skills.
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Internet applications.
  • Ability to respond quickly and use good judgment in unusual and emergency situations.
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English preferred.
