We are seeking an experienced Medical Oncology Nurse Specialist to join our team at Penn State Health, a renowned academic medical center and Level 1 Regional Adult and Pediatric Trauma Center. As a member of our cancer care team, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care and advancing the field of oncology.

About the Role

The Graduate Nurse Residency Program is designed for new RN graduates who want to continue learning and growing in their nursing career while assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care to a designated group of patients. This position offers a seamless educational transition into the nursing world and provides opportunities for professional development and advancement.

Responsibilities
  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care to a designated group of patients
  • Participate in all learning opportunities offered by the program
  • Remain full-time on one unit for the entire year of the program
Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must:

  • Hold a Temporary Practice Permit or be currently licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse by the state of employment or hold a multistate RN license through the interstate Nurse Licensure Compact
  • Have graduated within one (1) year of the cohort start date
  • Have obtained AHA BLS certification prior to the end of the orientation period
Preferred Qualifications

We prefer candidates with:

  • GN and/or RN license
  • ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy Certification
  • Professional nursing certification
