POSITION SUMMARY
The Nutrition Outreach Coordinator at Feeding South Florida (FSF) plays a vital role in delivering nutrition education within the FSF Choice Pantries, utilizing the established curriculum.

This role involves meticulous tracking and reporting of data as mandated by the program.

The Coordinator will engage in the organization and execution of initiatives aimed at enhancing food security and accessibility while mitigating health risks associated with food insecurity.

The Coordinator champions and empowers food bank partners to implement healthy practices in their pantries and programs.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
- Deliver nutrition education sessions in alignment with Feeding South Florida guidelines and evidence-based practices.
- Assist in the creation, coordination, and implementation of initiatives designed to elevate the dietary quality of those we serve. This may encompass healthy nutrition handouts, nudges, recipes, cooking demonstrations, and other program materials intended to support policy, system, and environment (PSE) modifications.

- Facilitate the operations of the FSF Choice Pantries, which includes intake, scheduling, education, reporting, and various administrative responsibilities.
- Aid in managing pantry inventory, covering procurement, storage, and distribution, ensuring optimal resource utilization and waste reduction.

- Maintain precise records of nutrition education, client interactions, and other pantry activities, preparing timely and accurate reports.
- Foster professional relationships, delivering exceptional customer service both internally and externally.
- Represent FSF at community meetings, events, and presentations.
- Engage in program enhancement and strategic planning activities as assigned.
- Ensure all communications are responded to promptly, ideally within one business day.
- Support the overarching mission of the department and organization, contributing to a healthier environment and a culture of wellness.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in nutrition, dietetics, public health, education, or a related field, or a combination of education and experience that provides an equivalent background.
- Minimum of two years of experience in nutrition education or a related field.
- Successful completion of a Level 2 background check.
- Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse socioeconomic backgrounds in culturally varied work environments.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Excellent time management abilities.
- Proficient public speaking skills, including presenting to large groups.
- Strong work ethic and the ability to be a self-motivated, positive team player capable of working independently with minimal supervision.

Technical Skills
- Proficient in Microsoft 365 applications: Excel, Word, SharePoint, Teams.
- Willingness to travel throughout FSF's service area.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORKING CONDITIONS
- Organization hours are Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. The schedule for this position may vary, including occasional weekends and evenings. Additional hours may be required during peak periods.

Environment:
This position operates in an office setting with varying periods of standing, talking, and visual concentration, alongside the use of office equipment. Office safety standards must be maintained. Occasional work may occur in warehouses or outdoor settings under varying weather conditions.

Travel:
This position may involve occasional travel for meetings, conferences, or special events.
