JOB SUMMARY:
The Speech Language Pathologist plays a crucial role in the identification, assessment, and treatment of speech and language impairments in students, including those in preschool and those with disabilities. This professional collaborates with a multidisciplinary team to provide essential support to students facing communication challenges.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Valid Ohio Department of Education Speech Language Pathologist License
- Ohio Speech Language Pathologist Board License
- Experience in an educational environment is preferred
- Familiarity with sign language and augmentative communication tools is advantageous

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES (KSAs):
- Understanding of Ohio Operating Standards for the Education of Children with Disabilities
- Knowledge of FERPA and HIPAA regulations
- Familiarity with Ohio's Academic Content Standards
- Awareness of Ohio regulations concerning speech therapy as a program and related service
- Knowledge of IDEA and the IEP process
- Proficiency in current assessment tools and testing programs
- Insight into contemporary educational issues and best practices
- Competence in effective intervention strategies
- Awareness of community resources that assist students with disabilities
- Skill in effective classroom management techniques
- Proficiency in technology for productivity and communication, including Microsoft Office and Google Docs
- Ability to employ problem-solving and creative thinking skills
- Capacity to identify student strengths and areas for improvement
- Competence in maintaining accurate student records
- Ability to analyze and interpret assessment data
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Commitment to confidentiality
- Ability to foster positive working relationships with students, colleagues, administrators, and the community
- Skill in collaborating with educators to support students in mainstream classrooms
- Flexibility to work with students in diverse treatment settings
- Ability to engage effectively with students with varying cognitive and physical challenges
