Position Overview:
Generally, every McMenamins server is expected to manage various tasks from opening to closing.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: serving food, pouring and serving beverages, welcoming guests, seating patrons or guiding them to their preferred areas, attending to and clearing tables, operating a cash register and/or POS system, restocking supplies, dishwashing, maintaining cleanliness, working in both smoking and non-smoking environments, seasonal outdoor work, and most importantly, ensuring exceptional customer relations with all guests.

This role can be physically demanding and requires mental agility along with the ability to effectively multitask in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

A server must also possess the capability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.

All employees are expected to perform their duties safely and report any safety concerns to management.

Additionally, all McMenamins staff are required to stay informed about company events, history, and products. Other tasks may be assigned by the manager on duty.

Job Requirements:

  • Maintain current food handlers and OLCC/WA liquor license
  • Ability to accurately manage cash and work with numerical data
  • Outstanding customer service and communication skills
  • Flexible schedule availability including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver exceptional customer service
  • Safely lift and transport heavy items with assistance when necessary
  • Value diversity and work effectively with individuals from various backgrounds
  • Maintain composure and focus in a high-volume, deadline-oriented work setting
  • Stand for extended periods, including frequent walking, stair climbing, and working outdoors in varying weather conditions as needed
  • Perform repetitive movements such as pushing, pulling, bending, and some twisting and stooping
  • Engage in fine hand manipulation, including handling various objects, using a computer keyboard, writing, and operating kitchen equipment such as knives and slicers
  • Communicate clearly and maintain a positive, polite, and cooperative demeanor with coworkers, managers, vendors, and customers
  • Work in and around a hot kitchen and various heat sources, including grills, broilers, and fryers
  • Handle cleaning and sanitizing chemicals
  • Complete miscellaneous side tasks as directed by the manager on duty
