Key Responsibilities- Compliance and Regulatory Management
- Ensure compliance with regulatory, legal, accreditation, and certification requirements for specialty pharmacy operations.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements.
- Leadership and Management
- Lead the specialty pharmacy implementation project and serve as a subject matter expert.
- Supervise and manage pharmacy staff involved in specialty pharmacy operations, including interviewing, hiring, training, and implementation of dispensing and distribution of specialty medications.
- Business Development and Growth
- Identify, implement, and manage high-quality, cost-effective specialty pharmacy delivery methods and programs to drive client clinical and financial growth and success.
- Establish credible relationships with health system stakeholders and communicate effectively to address key milestones and navigate barriers for successful implementation and operations.
- Quality and Process Improvement
- Develop and implement quality and process improvement initiatives to achieve successful compliance with accreditation standards.
- Assist specialty pharmacy partners in development of action plans for quality and process improvement.
- Reporting and Analytics
- Deliver reporting on program performance to internal stakeholders and clients via analytics dashboards and collation of information or data for ad-hoc reports.
- Assist in the development of a management reporting dashboard.
- Travel and Miscellaneous
- Required to travel approximately 50% of time.
- Provide daily supervision of specialty pharmacy operations teams in accordance with company policies and applicable laws.
- Education and Experience
- Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or Bachelors of Science (BS Pharm) degree from an ACPE-accredited pharmacy school required.
- Post-graduate training (PGY-1 and/or PGY-2 completion) desirable.
- At least three (3) years of supervisory experience in specialty pharmacy required, along with two (2) years of relevant pharmacist experience.
- Skills and Qualifications
- Broad knowledge and work experience with computerized pharmacy information and dispensing systems and Microsoft Office suite.
- Self-driven individual with motivation to grow and excel within a dynamic team environment.
- Strong communication and written skills.
- Excellent analytical and organizational skills.
- Positive team player with a solid work ethic.
